Job Description

The Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner to business stakeholders by transforming data into actionable insights that improve decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business performance. The role works closely with business and technical teams to understand business objectives, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop reporting, analytics, and process automation solutions that support organizational goals.

This position is responsible for supporting and enhancing existing reporting and analytics capabilities, developing new reporting solutions, analyzing business data to identify trends and opportunities, and recommending improvements to business processes, reporting strategies, and decision-making practices. The Business Analyst helps ensure business data is accurate, reliable, and effectively utilized to support operational and strategic objectives.

Operating within the IT Data Solutions team, this role serves as a bridge between business needs and technology capabilities, supporting the administration and continuous improvement of analytics platforms, reporting environments, and data assets. The position also contributes to the development of reporting standards, analytics best practices, and data management processes that improve the firm's overall analytics maturity.

All responsibilities must be performed under management guidance and in accordance with established practices (policies, procedures, and standards), ensuring consistency, accountability, and adherence to active IT controls.

  • Business Partnership & Requirements Management – Build and maintain strong working relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business objectives, information needs, and operational challenges.
  • Reporting & Analytics Support – Support, maintain, and continuously improve existing reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Insight Development & Recommendations – Analyze business data and reporting trends to identify opportunities for improved visibility, decision-making, operational effectiveness, and business performance. Recommend new metrics, reports, analytics, and process improvements based on business needs and data insights.
  • Business Analysis & Solution Development – Analyze business data, processes, and requirements to identify opportunities for improved reporting, analytics, and business insights. Design, develop, and implement solutions that support business objectives and decision-making.

  • Process Improvement & Automation – Support process improvement and automation initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and business value.
  • Data Quality & Utilization – Ensure business data is accurate, reliable, timely, and effectively utilized for reporting and analytics.
  • Analytics Platform Administration – Support the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of analytics and reporting platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Unanet, and related data platforms.
  • Data Architecture & Integration Support – Work with technical teams to ensure data models, integrations, semantic models, and reporting assets effectively support business and security requirements.
  • Standards & Best Practices – Contribute to the development and adoption of reporting, analytics, and data management standards and best practices.
  • Documentation and Process Ownership – Maintain high-quality documentation for security configurations, architectures, runbooks, playbooks, and governance processes to ensure operational clarity and audit readiness.
  • After-Hours Response and Readiness – Provide after-hours support for major incidents and essential support and security operations.
  • Other Contributions – Perform additional duties as needed to support IT and organizational priorities.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • •Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and related reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools.
  • •Experience working with complex financial and operational data, business processes, and reporting requirements, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and business reporting.
  • •Ability to work with data from multiple business systems and understand how information flows across organizational processes.
  • •Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with executive leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party resources.

Education and Experience

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • •Seven (7) years or more of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, financial analysis, business analysis, business intelligence, operations analysis, reporting development, or a related discipline.
  • •Experience working with enterprise business systems, reporting platforms, and data sources used to support business operations and decision-making.
  • •Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, data warehousing concepts, semantic models, or similar modern analytics platforms.
  • •Experience supporting executive leadership and business stakeholders through reporting, analytics, and decision-support initiatives.
  • •Experience within engineering, consulting, professional services, or other project-based organizations preferred.
  • •Experience with Unanet or similar ERP and project management platforms preferred.
