Cryptographic Modernization Project Manager

San Antonio, TX

We are seeking experienced Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and Software Engineers to help the Air Force develop a family of cryptographic modernization systems and devices.  The first such effort will identify and model alternatives, create evaluation criteria, conduct an evaluation of alternatives, and create requirements for a holistic system that will integrate data from multiple systems to provide visibility, accountability, and situational awareness of Air Force Controlled Cryptographic Items.

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and help create Software Acquisition Pathway deliverables for Air Force cryptographic modernization projects.
  • Develop standards, metrics, and processes for Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment health and status reporting.
  • Analyze plans for device development and upgrades to ensure health and status reporting compliance.
  • Assist in development of a new COMSEC reporting platform and iterative deliveries.
  • Develop and write technical requirements for the efficient collection and presentation of data.
  • Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to research, design, implement, test, and evaluate software and systems.
  • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consult with program engineering staff to evaluate the interfaces between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field – Computer or Systems Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years involvement with agile software development projects, preferably within the Department of Defense
  • Thorough knowledge of the Air Force or DoD cryptographic enterprise required
  • Prior experience as a COMSEC custodian or manager is a plus
  • Experience developing agile software requirements
  • Experience drafting highly technical documentation, briefings, and reports
  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition and Risk Management processes

Required licenses or certifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required
