Cryptographic Digital Transformation Engineer

We are seeking experienced Systems Engineers,Cryptographic and Digital Engineering (DE) Engineers to help the Air Force transitionfrom a legacy development, production, and fielding path to a digitalengineering environment.  Candidates mustbe knowledgeable with DE (to include model-based systems engineering)practices, modular open system approaches, software-defined capabilities, andcommercial standards and interfaces. Candidates should also be familiar withmodel-based engineering tools and be innovative in helping establish requirementsdigitally. They should be familiar with the path of high assurancecertification of communications security (COMSEC) devices.  Knowledge will support acceleration of certificationand reduce risks by scaling JIRA/ Confluence tools.  Formulate courses of actions that align withprogram development strategies and result in platform integration acceleration.  Initiative that supports an overall processof integrating and employing digital methods across the entire lifecycle of communicationssecurity (COMSEC) capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer current technology capabilities, and tools of DE and Model-Based System Engineering that align with program development strategies.
  • Orchestrate and implement formulated strategies that align to program development and implement the use of requirements captured digitally.
  • Form strategic partnerships and collaborate with industry, DoD offices and other Government entities that assist in establishing DE strategies supporting COMSEC product development.
  • Identify Digital Engineering deliverables for Air Force cryptographic modernization projects.
  • Develop standards, metrics, and processes for Digital Engineering requirements in support of COMSEC products and capabilities.
  • Develop and write technical requirements for the efficient collection and presentation of DE data.
  • Apply principles and techniques of DE (i.e. Digital Twins) to research, design, implement, test, and evaluate software and systems.
  • Analyze DE and related Model-Based System Engineering tools to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consult with program engineering staff to evaluate DE program requirements between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field – Computer or Systems Engineering with a Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience performing Technical/Engineering tasks
  • Minimum of 5 years involvement with agile software development projects, preferably within the Department of Defense
  • Thorough knowledge of the Air Force or DoD cryptographic enterprise required
  • Prior experience as a COMSEC development, product, or sustainment engineer or manager is a plus.
  • Experience developing agile software requirements
  • Experience drafting highly technical documentation, briefings, and reports
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition and Risk Management processes
  • Knowledge of Digital Transformation

Required licenses or certifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required
